Elise, in disguise, ambushes a carriage headed for the Coalition Tower – a carriage containing Yodhbarada Davaryna and her entourage. Elise first picks off the rakhtor-borne escort, then moves in as the carriage crashes into a barricade Elise had arranged around a blind turn. Her mount is hit by a poisoned bolt by one of the defenders, but Elise makes short order of the remaining guards, and makes her way to the carriage. There, Yodhbarada Davaryna proclaims that the Curse of Barada will be on Elise for slaying her, but Elise is not dissuaded, and runs her through – then chops off her head, just to make certain that she's dead. Before anyone can arrive to investigate, Elise takes one of the drokars from the carriage, and rides away.
