Roho, the blind fennec healer, is borne by rakhtor carriage to a place in the wilderness where Master Zahirinee – a white, deep-voiced Eeee seer – lives, and where his magical pool (presently disrupted) is located. It also happens to be there Skiree – a young Eeee – is continuing her apprentice studies, as Roho is soon reminded when the little bat enthusiastically greets him and pretends to cast a spell on him to turn him "bloo". Zahirinee and Roho catch up on recent events, and then guests (the mages from Rephidim) start arriving.
