In the Dream Realm, Mage Ssrithiri finds himself at the crossroads. Now, the passage leading to Inala's realm has been fully formed, and the statue of Inala has been replaced by one of Envoy … one which animates, as Ssrithiri throws himself prostrate before the "goddess". Ssrithiri pledges his loyalty to Inala/Envoy, and then Elise shows up, finding the snake lying prostrate before Envoy. Ssrithiri is furious at Elise's intrusion, and, with Envoy's leave, departs. Elise makes speeches to Envoy, but ends up leaving as well.
