Tulani and Arkold find their way to the curio shop of Punja, a withered old Khatta. The place is full of what might charitably be called junk; Arkold puts on his "Gigi" act for a bit, but drops it partway through the visit, as it seems to have no effect on Punja anyway. After asking them about what they're looking for, Punja shows them a box of effects from the estate of an executed Gallee noble; among other things, there is a trapezoidal puzzle piece that appears to go with the triangular piece Tulani already has. Some bargaining follows, wherein Tulani offers up the necromantic device that conjured up the shade of a Gigi sorcerer, in exchange for the puzzle piece, a cylindrical "canteen," a silver dragon's head pendant purported to ward off unpleasant creatures, and an amulet that seems to make Arkold feel more comfortable when he wears it.

After leaving the shop, they meet back up at the Purple Rose, and Tulani verifies that the piece does indeed fit on her map. Now, she just needs the remaining piece, rumored to be in Sylvania. They discuss various means of getting to Sylvania, but the most attractive one (particularly to Arkold and Raneah) is by ocean.
