In the evening, Jynx visits the Emir's Gardens, and is taken to Barabbas's new tower in the Underground Gardens, where he is met by a strange Nohbakim by the name of Yovne … only it turns out that this isn't really a Nohbakim after all, but rather Envoy in a clever (if outrageous) disguise. Jynx and Envoy make plans to meet up on an airship – The Ferocious Roarer of the Veldt – and to travel on to Olympia.
