Willow, accompanied by Burr and Thorn, goes through the Abu Dhabi Bazaar, getting some rude treatment by Khattas, and purchasing some jerkins after a bit of haggling with a merchant. She seeks some herbs to replenish her supplies, and visits an odd curio shop set in the middle of an alley. There, she meets an aged Khatta proprietor named Punja, and finds that this store has many strange items … including a "love potion", a jar of the same black powder associated with the "puppy", and a strange book titled "The Sylvanian Heresy".
When Willow hears Punja's name, Punja Hekl, she also recalls the poem she had been told by the gypsy Korv, Madame Xanadu. She finds that she can take the name "Tyrne Dagh" and change it according to the riddle, to come up with Punja's name. Things get progressively weirder in the store, until Punja reveals himself to be something quite other than the elderly Khatta proprietor he appeared to be. The whole illusion breaks away, leaving Willow in an alleyway with the jar and the book … and no sign of the dagger she'd acquired from Wyrd back in Sylvania.
