In Blackshire Village, Sylvania, Jynx is resting after his adventures, until he receives word from a Rhian messenger that Gallisian troops – the chevaliers and cuirassiers – have laid siege to Tempest County, having pressed beyond Spearhead Point in their advance through Sylvania. Jynx organizes a very small expedition to head to Tempest County to see what can be done, and has Sheriff Darken organize the defense of the village, though the Gallisians break through.
