Elise and Kaalaas continue their quest to hunt down the Rhian, Ordway, following the trail left by their quarry and his companion. Along the way, they encounter some locals who report that their herd was attacked by some creatures known as "Abaddon hogs". Afterward, while camping, Elise encounters two such creatures, and slays them.
