Brishen goes to visit Thath, who is leaving Babel for Saskanar. She then meets a strange (and unnamed) Eeee who takes an interest in her singing voice. Their conversation is interrupted by an appearance by Reico – Brishen's boyfriend – who is surfing off the "waterfalls" of the Palace.
