Envoy has been given some time alone in her cell to reflect on things. The lack of sun is starting to take its toll on her. Kani, masquerading as as an Inquisitor named Ciar, questions her further. Envoy refuses to cooperate, saying she doesn't have the common sense to know who she can trust, and will not give out further information without proof. Kani explains that the Temple does not have a vendetta against the Exile, and seeks only justice, then leaves without convincing Envoy to be more forthcoming.
Bridge Officer Nimiss meets with Senior Investigator Kani, and Envoy's case is discussed. Kani reveals that there are some possible leads, but that more cooperation is required from the exile. Nimiss explains that this is part of a larger event, which he hasn't been giving enough attention to. Namely, Moffat's corrupt scheming. He agrees to meet with Envoy.
The Aeolun is brought to Nimiss' office, and told to cooperate with Inquisitor Ciar. She agrees, and reveals that Pouncer, Zoltan's adopted cub, may be somehow related to the being which killed Isstan. Then she is returned to her cell.
