After Zoltan's hasty departure, Roho, the blind fennec healer, has been left in a village populated entirely by mute Savanites – including Melchizedek's servant, Azhtar. They try to communicate, as no one has been able to tell Roho what has been going on, although the rest of the group is conspicuously absent. Envoy saves the day (and their sanity) when she arrives, and serves nicely as a translator, then helps the fennec and cheetah to head off for the City of Hands to join Kaela and the rest
