On the dream-world of Morpheus, transported by the crystal gateway, Jynx and Brishen begin their exploration. They soon discover that the mists that seem to cover the world are in fact clouds of dust … dust which doesn't settle as quickly as it would on Sinai, because the gravity is much lower here.

They travel across the landscape, choosing between visiting a metal tower and a floating palace. Along the way, Brishen sees a vision of Reico with another woman – a golden Gigi feline, to be exact. They move along, approaching the floating castle, greeted by friendly fish jumping from a floating moat composed of countless tiny beads. Inside, they find themselves in a fairy-tale setting, greeted at the door by … Gnarr, the Titanian! Things get even weirder when they find that the "tea party" held inside is presided over by Magic Fairy Princess Eve … Jynx's little sister!

Eve uses her "Dress-Up Power" to put Jynx and Brishen in pink frilly dresses, and then treats them to tea and cookies … though the tea proves to be quite lacking in the area of quenching thirst, and they don't touch the cookies. There is another guest – a little Savanite girl by the name of Last-Daughter – and Jynx decides that this other guest must not be a figment of Eve's overactive imagination, as the rest of this dream-reality seems to be.

Brishen presents the Artifact of Calderas to Eve, in the hopes of getting Eve to destroy it – or turn it into something "cute and harmless". Eve unleashes a number of magical attacks on the artifact, until it is apparently transformed into yet another cute little fish. Jynx exchanges hand-signs with Last-Daughter, and finds that she was on some sort of ship that crashed here, and that she's "not really here". Jynx expresses his suspicions about this being just a bit too easy of a way to get rid of the Artifact.

Jynx and Brishen leave the palace, and head next to the "metal tower". At the door, a little fish comes to Jynx with a note … informing him that he was right in his suspicions, and that "it didn't work … it just made things more interesting" … implying that the Artifact is still out there somewhere. They hurry up and go inside. They find a place overgrown with plants … and, more importantly, having a supply of edible fruits and vegetables … and water! While they're there, they encounter some phantom images of Savanites, hinting at the mystery of this grounded "ship". Despite Brishen's misgivings, Jynx decides that it's best to get some rest, and he does so.
