Piper, a young Gallah mutt who makes a living by cashing in on bounties on vermites, goes down into the Rephidim sewers, trying to find some vermite nests. He discovers a wheelbarrow … and then a vixen that was pushed into the sewers, and was being chewed on by vermites. He makes use of the wheelbarrow to get the vixen to a ladder, then carries her back up to the Bazaar, where he gets the help of Doctor Roho to tend to the wounded fox.
