Elise finds herself on a strange island, with jumbled memories of her duel with Jiraud and falling down the stairs. She ventures into a ruined temple, hearing the voice of Envoy, but unable to reach the young Aeolun. She ventures into a dark chamber, where she is attacked by skeletal Eeee. Envoy scrambles through some rubble, meeting up with Elise, and they both flee back to the surface. Elise defeats the skeletons by smashing the lead zombie and knocking them back down the stairs in a "domino" effect. Then, the twosome head back in. Envoy goes in and retrieves the hand mirrors that cause her to change forms, a torch, and some of the idols from the temple. With a bit of searching, they discover a secret door!
They head through the secret tunnel into a cave room, with a frozen pool in its center. Envoy uses a magic mirror to change to her Dragon aspect, and uses her fire breath to melt the pool enough that a magic wand in the pool can be fished out with Elise's sword. Then, they explore a chamber where it looks like a ritual has been performed, perhaps in the Sphere of Dream. They next explore a chamber where Mystico, a Lapi dream mage, is staring at a book set out on a table before him. Envoy surmises that the book may be some sort of magical trap, and that Mystico may be under some sort of glamour, since he shows no signs of noticing their arrival, and resists efforts to pull him away from the book.
Carefully, Elise and Envoy avoid looking at the book. Envoy uses the magic wand to freeze the book, and holds Mystico back while Elise smashes it with her sword. The book explodes, and Mystico comes back to his senses. They get out of the room and investigate another chamber, this one having a bedroll and a trunk. The foppish fox shows up again, and Envoy gets him to open the trunk … which turns out to be unlocked. The fox leaves again.
They rummage through the contents of the trunk, then explore another tunnel, finding it to lead into another secret passage back to the temple. Satisfied with their exploration so far, they help the Lapi get back to the surface … where the fox greets them once more and congratulates them for succeeding in their quest, and the dream fades away…
