At the Underground Gardens, Envoy is reunited with Earth Mage Barabbas, who has heard something of her travails. She brings him up to speed on her adventures, and is glad for the friendly company. Then, after her visit there, she goes to the Thief's Boots Inn, where she finds Vielanika with a new "gig" – not as high profile as Envoy might have hoped, but still faring better than in Rephidim. Envoy brings up the prospect of Vielanika possibly touring on Abaddon, but Vielanika is doubtful whether such a thing might even be possible – though still open to the idea nonetheless.
