The Freedom's Dream, within sight of the coastline of Lamu (Sinai's third major continent) encounters some strange clouds. Zoltan flies in to investigate, and is tossed about. The airship tries to avoid the turbulence, but it is too late – the ship is drawn into the strange cloud as well, colliding with a great tower on a sky island that floats within. The damage is assessed, and some of the crew go down to the ground to investigate. Janus, Zoltan and Jezebel investigate a ruined shack and the base of the tower, and encounter a strange phenomenon that "zaps" Jezebel … and apparently Wynona as well
