Envoy is moved to a new room, accompanied by Wynona and Ghaz-Kutsuk. Envoy asks what Ghaz-Kutsuk's name was before she was disgraced, and finds out that it was Kyrieta. With her permission, Wynona and Envoy decide to call Kyrieta by that name instead.

A Yodhsunala – "Daughter of Sunala" – shows up, as per Envoy's earlier request, and performs a ritual to assist Envoy in her healing process. Envoy can speak clearly now, but she's still an invalid, with very little control of her own body, unable to walk or fly or even care for herself.

Envoy questions Kyrieta, whether she might be able to perform an errand for her – to go to the Mages' Guild Hall in Babel to request "a certain mind mage" to assist her.
