Envoy joins a delegation from the Mages' Guild Hall of Babel, which goes to the Temple of Rephath in order to retrieve Wynona. However, Wynona apparently is not being held prisoner there, and is even entertaining notions of staying there a bit longer. Envoy, in an attempt to get a response out of Wynona, claims that she used Kyrieta as a body shield while escaping from the Temple of Inala, resulting in Kyrieta's death – without mentioning that she was under delusions of Blakat at the time. Wynona is shocked by this, and retreats from the chamber. The delegation leaves.

Back at the Guild Hall, Gusty and Envoy briefly discuss the failed meeting, and then Envoy tries to make an appointment with Mage Cyprian.
