Envoy awakens in the tomb/shrine to find that she's still alive, but severely wounded, and that the priest and those with him have fled. She recovers a scroll lying abandoned on the floor, and what she can of her belongings, and heads out, to find that the area is being "purged" by fire, courtesy of the Yodhgorphat. Envoy rouses an unconscious Eeee boy, Grokglekht, and he helps her find her way out of the area … though Envoy parts ways with him when she accidentally steps off of a drop-off, and into the "pit" in the center of Babel, as the floor she was walking off was part of one of the buildings cleft by the disaster. She is immediately spotted by a patrol, and seeks cover in one of the ruined buildings, staying there for the night.
