At the Bazaar, the Kurai family (Jynx included, despite his misgivings) is out late at night, around the Clock Tower, as the final minutes are counted down to midnight. Meanwhile, Francisco is selling "Guy Fox" dolls, and Kira engages in a bit of a juggling competition with a Kavi performer. Kira's balance is a bit off, and one of her throwing knives knocks one of the Kavi's sparking wands into the air.

As Jynx's bad luck would have it, the wand lands down the back of his shirt. He thrashes around until Kira slices open the back of his shirt, letting the wand out. "Woodrow the Wondrous" arrives, and is accused by Jynx of being a thief … just as he "acquires" a pouch from Jynx's father, Dominic. The Kurai family – minus Jynx – departs. There is much goading from a foppish Fox and Woodrow, suggesting that Kira is Jynx's girlfriend, and then Woodrow makes a hasty exit. The foppish Fox likewise makes a hasty exit when Envoy arrives and starts asking him questions. Galand shows up as well, enjoying the festivities, and then the midnight moment comes … and the Clock Tower rings in the New Year!
