Elise, having been "slain" by a monster in her previous dream, finds herself now adrift in a sea of souls, floating on the carcass of the monster that she killed with her last attack. She is confronted by shades of Eeee soldiers she slew in her service to Rephidim, and of her parents – who beckon her to join them amongst the waves. Elise drifts on, and encounters the Mystic, who assures her that she is, in fact, not dead, but only dreaming. Elise seeks comfort in the Mystic's presence, but he reminds her that despite their attraction one to another, they are not on the same side – The gods she opposes are his gods, as flawed as they may seem.
