Elise and Envoy continue through the jungle of Gorphat's realm, facing an obstacle in the form of a waterfall going over the path. After going through several possible solutions, they settle on teamwork: Envoy uses her magic to create a rift upstream to divert the water flow, while Elise and the bats move dirt, rocks and wood to line the drained riverbed so that the wagon won't get stuck in the mud. They manage to cross the riverbed, then reach the summit. They enter a cave that serves as Gorphat's abode, where the foppish fox is at her side. The bats accompanying Envoy and Elise are granted curing of their various diseases, and leave the realm. While Envoy distracts Gorphat, Elise pulls out her sword and beheads the disease goddess. The foppish fox refuses to acknowledge that Gorphat is dead, and Envoy urges Elise to kill the fox as well, reasoning that he is an "anchor" that makes this realm real. Elise refuses, and Envoy leaves.
