Bambridge is placed in a bright room with only a table, chair, and mirror. He is then questionned by an electronic voice about past and recent events that have brought him to the Temple's attention. The interviewer asks some pointed questions, for which Bambridge has only adequate answers. The Shiga's nervousness increases untill finally the Inquisitor says Bambridge seems guilty of being a good samaritan, which isn't presently a Temple Crime. The Shiga is advised that the rest of the interview will be conducted in person, and that the Inquisitor expects to be given all the respect due his station, despite his appearance.

Then a Savanite enters, wearing full Inquisitor regalia.
