Aski Medes and Buran travel to the house of Jennendra, a Seeress whom Aski Medes is acquainted with. They meet Jekil, a diminutive talking crow who is apparently Jennendra's "familiar" – or, at least, her companion, as a native of the Bowl. Jennendra, a Korv, listens to Buran's story, and gets to work to see what she can divine in the way of answers.
