After carrying Orifice's notebooks out of the castle (and miraculously not being interrupted) Olivia runs into Amy and Djivan on their way to look over the spot where Djivan found bits of Liliana's clothes. Olivia drops of the books and rejoins them, and they all head into the woods.

They find the spot where there was a struggle, and Olivia accidentally knocks loose a net that was caught up in a tree. It smells awful, but the affect on Amelia is like being kicked in the head. There are enough clues to let the Kadie pronounce that Lili was likely taken by Chronotopian demon hunters. This makes no sense to Djivan and Olivia, who don't know about Lili's supernatural side.

Djivan spots smoke, and leads them to a campsite where some of Lili's things are still burning. There's an earthen cave, and after some negotiation Amy is allowed to go first (since she doesn't want the others to see Lili in her demonic form). Deep inside the cave, which makes Amy uneasy because her own demon thinks it feels 'hollow', she finds Lili bound to a frame amidst the remains of a ritual.

Lili tells how she was taken by three people she thinks were human, and how they touched a crystal to her chest that made her head and feet burn (those being where her demon form changed her the most) and then feeling like she'd been torn in half. Her eyes no longer glow, leading Amy to suspect her spirit had been stolen.

Olivia and Djivan follow down, and gather up Lili so she can be brought to Natasha. Amy tries to summon up her own demon then, to try and sense where the attackers went – but the chamber has an anti-demon ward in place and she gets knocked out instead.
