Xander Lightfoot shows up at Snowshoe's Tavern while business is slow and invites Anisa to come along with him and Spring Meadow to a carnival known as the "Wheelierama World of Fun" – a "theme park" temporarily set up at the docks built around the novelty of "wheelie sandals" – shoes with wheels on them. Anisa has some difficulty getting used to the skates, but takes part in various activities, while Fenter is employed to use Chaos Magic to try to fend off almost certain disaster with some of the more hazardous mechanical contraptions (especially the Fun Fun Flinger, which is a Titanian creation). Eventually, however, things go awry as a Kavi is flung off target, and Fenter uses a held spell to try to keep anyone from being hurt. The Kavi lands on Anisa while she's on another ride, and then the Fun Fun Flinger starts to lose stability. A race between Anisa, Spring Meadow and Xander is cut off early when it's apparent that the Flinger is going to explode, as Xander rushes over to try to help Fenter keep things under control. Fenter uses Chaos Magic to divert the inevitable mishap from the steam-powered Flinger to the mechanical "Spin Bowl" instead … resulting in the spectacular destruction of that ride, but no injuries.
