In the Bazaar, Francisco is once again treated to a free meal by one of the vendors, in this case a loud and violent Titanian. Countess Ophelia of Sylvania spots the Fox and approaches him, asking Eustace do Varr – a poodle who previously "Flushed" Francisco – to introduce them. Eustace makes haste to leave, while Ophelia is curious about how so many dolls bearing Francisco's likeness are sold in the Bazaar … and whether the Kitsune profits at all from the sales. Apparently, he does not, so Ophelia suggests that perhaps something could be done to remedy the situation … by selling "official" Francisco dolls.
