Upon returning from their victory over the cursed Gallisian troops, Alptraum, Arkold and Corporal Jayne are brought to the main room of the Smith compound for a celebration party, where they are wined and dined and generally fussed over.

Gunn has made a full recovery from the vampire blood, and she and her sister Lacrimosa embarrass Alptraum with various signs of affection. Talk turns to what Jayne remembers of his troop's encounter with the mysterious Countess Draco, who the adventurers want to meet, and to what the locals know of the 'Light of Nala' – which leads to the Smith girls showing off some carved figurines of the 'Angels', as the Seven Sisters are known (in much tamer forms) in Sylvania.

The evening winds down with the men being led off to bed, having decided to stay awhile until Tulani returns to pick them up, and with a promise to try and return for the Winter Dance that occurs around the same time as Alptraum's birthday.
