Instead of finding a wagon to sleep in the previous night, Tulani had gone back to the woods and slept in her dragon form. She woke up feeling wonderful, and even full, so didn't question the presence of Rughrat bones nearby that she didn't remember from before. She collects her clothes, and takes a moment to realize she's not in the proper shape to wear them before finally shedding her dragon form and getting dressed.

While the camp is still stirring, she goes to the Reisender wagon and knocks quietly. The door is answered by Sabine, and Tulani explains that her supplies were left there. The Eeee woman gives Tulani her pack and the scabbard with the Light of Nala in it, and tells her she can keep the dancing costume. She also notes that Alptraum was last seen near the stage, flirting with all of the dancing girls.

While Tulani heads for the dancers' wagons, Alptraum wakes up with a hangover, in a strange wagon with a black feline arm across him. He learns that he spent the night with Nyneve, the mother of the dancing girls (and reputedly a witch). He finds that he's also naked save for his necklace and bag of herbs around his neck, and that his chitin-covered hand is exposed. Before he can panic, Nyneve explains that she 'bound his powers' so that he wouldn't hurt her (although he seems to have a few scratches of his own).

The woman explains that she's been with Reapers before, so knew what to do. Alptraum doesn't deny the insinuation, since it's true enough, and promises that the next time he won't be drunk. He slips out through a trap-door in the wagon and runs into Tulani, who cures his hangover with the Light of Nala.

Hexen arrives and there's some teasing of the fox, who mentions that a big wind nearly blew over his wagon last night and that one of the family's Rughrats went missing. He still offers Tulani a back massage to soothe her wings before the flight back to Draco, and she takes him up on it.

Alptraum returns to his parents' wagon, and helps his mother stitch up Tulani's torn clothing. His mother explains that she worries about him, and he tries to tell them why he feels the need to help out Sylvania. They agree to meet again i the capitol.
