After waking up with Calligenia and her sisters, the travelers ponder what to do while waiting for Calligenia (or her mother) to call on them. Layth searches for something to do to be helpfull, since Chloe won't let him do any of the servant activities he's used to. The buck decides to look at the garden, where he spots Tyche and Aaron and Zig-Zig, and reports what he sees to the others.

Tasha is presented with some leather armor, and needs help getting it on. As Layth describes Zig-Zig flirting with various warriors and going off with one, the Vartan grows increasingly jealous. Finally, a messenger talks to Aaron and he leaves the garden to find the others.

Aaron invites everyone to come visit Clan Kerebos, which he's been summoned back to, and Calligenia's two older sisters decide to come along as well. The group travels by wagon, and arrives at Kerebos Keep early. It turns out Aaron wasn't needed at all – his cousin Roland sent the message to give him a break.

Three warriors arrive from patrol, and one of them is Lucia Snowshoe, who comes over to see Layth. The warrior actually kisses Layth, surprising him – but it turns out the kiss was just to determine how closely related they might be (with the verdict being 'not very'). Lucia's Vykarin, Hudak, takes a liking to Tasha, and even pounces and wrestles with her.

Layth leaves with Lucia for the baths, to talk to her a bit more, while the others agree to a tour of the grounds.
