After a long day of work, Miranda returns to her tunnel in the Chalk warren and relaxes by playing her violin.

After a while, she notices someone standing in the tunnel outside, and stops to see who it is. To her shock, it's Clover Chalk – with her blond hair dyed black and dressed in black lace. Clover is actually acting polite, and wants to listen to more music.

Eventually, Clover asks Miranda if she'd like to play with a friend of hers who also likes music. Instead, Miranda loans Clover a page from a lullaby she's written to show to her friend, and if she likes it she can loan her the rest.

There's a bit of confusion, and Clover gets irritated when she doesn't understand that music can be written down, and Miranda's lisp gets on her nerves. She takes the music though.
