Envoy and Rory travel to Rephidim, where they visit the Bazaar. Envoy leads Rory into the "Little Babel" market area, and they find Vielanika the Eeee Bard, and her drummer, the Vykarin Rawrii. Envoy mentions that she is heading to the Himaat, and asks whether Vielanika might be available to go along, supposing that this might be a good opportunity for her, in light of signs that business is not going well in the Bazaar. Vielanika, however, cannot leave Rephidim, she reveals, because a mix-up regarding fines from the Audit have forced her to take a loan from a disreputable lender … and she is thus bound to Rephidim, lest her lender think she is trying to "skip town". Envoy resolves to do something about this for her friend and former mentor, and thus her next stop is at the Temple…
