Jarik learns of a planned ambush on an airship passing nearby, and rallies his forces to thwart the attempt. His mostly-Skreek force is victorious, but at the loss of more than half of its number. He manages to rescue a beautiful vixen (Vandice), however, and earns a favor from a grateful captain – passage back to Rephidim, to tend to unfinished business
