Willow rides on the back of a grain wagon with Burr, Testament-Blaze and Copy, as the driver, Farmer Gaunt, carries them through the Olympian countryside. Willow asks Gaunt a bit about the capitol city, Parthos, and how outsiders are treated there, then asks Copy if he found out anything interesting. Copy reveals that he heard that Prince Dack was insane, and that there wasn't really any family living with him in the castle – unless one counts ghosts. Willow checks her pocket and finds that the "silver" shekel was actually a gold one. She is not pleased by this, uncertain if this was a bribe or a gift of pity.
