Jynx and Brishen awaken in the "garden" in the crashed Silent Ones ship, and witness the appearance of "Morpheus" – the entity, not the planet – in his new, chosen form … which seems to be a hybrid of Khatta and Eeee. Morpheus leads Jynx and Brishen through the ship. They find some cylinders that contain the mortal remains of crewmembers of the ship, still at least partially preserved, but indicated as being "terminal" by symbols on the machinery there.

They press on, entering an area reserved for passengers, but only one cylinder is occupied. It holds Last-Daughter. Brishen and Jynx activate the cylinder, releasing the Savanite cub, bringing her back to the land of the living after a slumber of untold years. Morpheus, having fulfilled his part of the bargain, departs.
