Going through Orifice's notebooks, Olivia and the others learn about a giant cavern deep below the hot springs area. There, Orifice describes finding a colony of shy subterranean creatures presumably the trolls. He also speculates that they might be related to Gorts, or have somehow been influenced by Bosch or are remnants of the ancient Underground Empire of the Skreeks, Moltpaa, far to the southeast.
There is also mention of an assistant named Igor, which immediately makes Olivia wonder if it's the same one that's standing in the room with them.
Gunther gets excited about the account of a steam-powered tunneling device, and Amy and Olivia do their best to make it clear he can't just go down and claim it.
There's more speculation about Igor (especially as he tends to evade answering any questions about his age) until the man digs up an 'iconograph' picture on glass from Orifice's chest. It shows a very different Skreek. Amy remembers Igor mentioning that he worked for Lord Snapfish seventy years ago, which Igor confirms. Apparently there were two different Igors around at the time, and Igor explains about the two castle-serving clans of Sylvania: the Knucklebacks who serve wizards and mages and are all named Ysnor, and the Wrathbones who serve nobles and mad scientists and are all named Igor.
Olivia decides that her next step is to learn more about the ancient empire of Moltpaa to see if there's a connection or not to the trolls.
