Envoy figures out the code to get through a door and into the secret laboratory of Dr. Von Bronson, but she encounters another puzzle – apparently a game of "tic-tac-toe", but the machine cheats in order to win. Envoy is trapped in the room with some small spherical killer robots that attempt to do her in, while a recorded voice of the scientist boasts of his misdeeds. Envoy is severely injured, but manages to incapacitate the last of the robots, and to use some powered tools to get out of the locked laboratory. She then recuperates in a hospital.
