In the underground workshop, Zahn finds the cockpit of a machine that matches the 'donut airship' drawing that Clover did. During the examination of the wreckage, and with a little help from Amy, he figures out why the resin used for most of it is so durable: the little lengths of glass wire embedded inside help distribute any force that might have caused it to fracture otherwise.
Checking the next big room to the right side of the central shaft, they find an assembly line for various machines, complete with supplies of parts and semi-finished products. Zahn nearly blows a gasket, wanting to move down to the room or dig a tunnel to it, until Amelia talks him down from it, thinking the room is just a little too convenient, like it was laid out for someone like Zahn as bait.
Then next room around the shaft is just a big empty hangar, with scuff marks indicating something big and heavy was moved in and out of it. The final chamber on the upper level is a storeroom, with rows of stacked bins. Every bin they check is full of the mummified remains of Skeeks, however…
