With all other tasks completed, and with much trepidation, Tasha embarks on her self-appointed exploratory mission to discover the true nature of the Phantom. As planned the day before, the Melchior uses a covert flight plan, using low altitude and terrain to mask its approach. Far beyond the edge civilization, the long trip eventually sees her return to the volcanic lands where her life almost ended only days prior. Tasha manages to keep nerve, pressing on. Along the series of spy-hopping observation points, the Melchior encounters a crab-like creature covered in crystal – one of the creatures from the rift! Deciding flight is preferable to fight, the Melchior presses on, and is several hours in to its search the plate-like creature is detected approaching the Phantom's location! A flash blocks out the sky, and the city-sized extradimensional entity is see falling from the sky – in pieces! Even as she's trying to recover their flight, the ominous glow of the Phantom's maser alights upon the Melchior, overriding her AI's communication and putting Tasha face to face with a horrific version of herself! The creature – The Phantom – identifies itself as 'Enyo,' and after a unnerving conversation, invites Tasha aboard to meet her in person.
