The group is brought to the Hydron Baths, a huge open-walled structure open to the sky and laid out like a vast garden. Chloe takes them to the spring where they can see Aaron and Calligenia and Tyche, along with several other identical versions of Calli. Before entering the water, however, the warriors are to be annointed by a priestess of Ashtoreth, the goddess that the pool is dedicated to.

After the annointing, they all enter the water and are introduced to Celosia, Basilia and Aagalaia – Calli's older sisters. Layth washes and massages Aisha to help her relax, and draws a small crowd as others come to watch his techniques, while Tasha goes to Aaron to discuss her idea of having the Amazonians buy an airship.

Tasha also gets to know Roland, who asks if he can make a counter-offer to Zig-Zig's.
