Arcadia is visited by a peacock who invites her to a party, and arranges to see that she is properly attired. She heads to Zeiman's Market, an exclusive establishment where she is to be fitted for a dress. Fenter is also there, hunting down a replacement chamberpot for Latania (to replace the one he "borrowed"), while Envoy and Vielanika arrive so Vielanika can browse about. Fenter creates a disturbance when a "hat" of his creation (with a creen tied to it) shows up, and he lets it in. However, misfortune turns potentially lucrative, when Fenter is offered some money by a poodle lady if he can make such a hat for HER. Arcadia is offended by the notion of tying creens to hats, and, in order to head off such a possibility, volunteers to make creens of glass to adorn hats. Arkold also arrives, looking for a hat for himself, and is alarmed by some news he receives from Envoy concerning the dishonored Knight Templar, Blossom
