After the weirdness of the night before, and listing to old Orifice's recordings, Olivia wakes up a little late and has to rush to get to work on time only to find out she's already there, apparently. The Olivia at her loom looks and sounds like her, but the first glance betrays that she's a troll. She also refers to Olivia as Dorothy, and the apprentices all think Olivia is actually her crazy twin sister who Olivia knows died at birth.
A comment about 'being kept up all night by an amorous bat' makes Olivia want to seek out Liliana to ask her what happened. On her way to the gypsy camp, she's ambushed by Gunther, who claims that just about everyone but themselves has already been replaced by troll duplicates but he's not sure about the gypsies.
Sneaking up in barrels, Olivia and Gunther spy on Liliana for awhile to make sure it's really her and the Eee sure doesn't act differently than they'd expect. But once inside her wagon, she turns on Olivia. The Skeek makes it out only because Gunther attacks the fake Liliana.
Olivia flees to the dam, where Gunther's secret underground workshop is. She avoids the patrols, and gets into the tunnels unnoticed. She picks Gunther's latest crossbow, and waits for the Kadie to return.
At some point, Olivia fell asleep, and is woken by Gunther, who has a bandage around his hand now. The two start cleaning up the place and setting up barricades, until Olivia gets stuck with a needle. Gunther, now with troll-eyes, explains that Olivia was always a troll, having been the replacement for the real one when her mother rejected her. But Olivia didn't pan out so they had to move up their plans and replace everyone.
After the injection, Olivia begins to turn into a troll, losing her fur and growing long, sharp talons. Her mother, Irene, arrives and stuffs her into a sack to be brought back for recycling or disposal.
Then the Skeek finds herself being woken up by Gunther again, this time in the sunken amphitheater in the ruins out in the Gnarly Woods. The Kadie says how he followed her, apparently sleepwalking, all the way out here. He also shows her were she paused to 'knock' on the wall like she was knocking on a door.
Olivia decides to talk to Natasha about it in the morning.
