Rory looks around the Lacinus village a little, then notices that a pair of dream mages – twin sister Khattas – are performing some sort of spell. He decides to watch, casting a shadow spell of his own for no particularly good reason (other than that it makes a nice sun shade), and then decides to join in, using his shadow-play spells for his part. At the "tea party" conjured up by the dreams of Kez and Kell, Rory and Silhouette come calling, and Rory asks the sisters for advice on a couple of dreams he has had recently. They offer to help him with some dreams which might bring back some of his memories – but which might also be unreliable, as his mind may fill in the gaps. In return, Rory agrees to assist them with a "sun shade", since Lamu is rather hot during the daytime.
