Willow travels with Burr through the streets of Abu Dhabi, in search of Punja Hekl's shop of cursed curios. She at last finds it, and bids Burr to wait outside, while she goes in to return the cursed book and jar of black powder she obtained last time … and to get answers. Inside, she finds the seemingly harmless Punja, and tries to return the items. Punja reveals his true self as Dagh … and declares that it is time to call in the favor that Willow owes him.
At first, Dagh offers Willow an "employment opportunity", but she refuses. He then demands that she deliver a message for him … to stand where he will send her and tell every stranger passing by, in as foul a language that she can, that there is no Star, and that everyone who follows the Star is the worst kind of fool.
Willow argues with Dagh, wanting to know why he cares so much about an entity that he believes does not exist. Dagh tries to go on the offensive, insulting Willow, but she stands up against the tirade … and even gets him to slip up and reveal that during one of their encounters, it wasn't really Dagh at all that Willow was talking to, but rather his "insane descendant", Prince Sebazhan Dack, playing at being Dagh.
Willow infuriates Dagh by telling him that she forgives him … that she realizes that she may be very much like Dagh, and that his anger may be because he feels betrayed Willow was dedicated to him as an infant, yet she's turning to the Star instead. Dagh is greatly angered by Willow's "impertinence", and threatens her, but Willow doesn't relent, silently offering up prayers to the Star. At last, the surroundings seem to explode in flames … and Willow finds herself back in the alleyway.
Her palm, where it was touching the hot floor in the vision (?) is actually mildly burned, and Willow tries to treat it. Burr is there, and Willow tells him that she was supposed to tell him that the star doesn't exist. This was, after all, where Dagh put her, and Burr was the only one there to talk to. She finds a partially crunched candy flower on the ground, and tucks it in her hair, heading off to find a place to get her ears pierced.
