Despite their best efforts (which include throwing gobs of mud) the two Skreeks in the swamp are no match for Olivia on a boat and Silas in the water. During the fight, they let it be known that they intend to kidnap Olivia to force Djivan to do something, but they don't say what.

Back on shore, Olivia makes a pitstop to get clean clothes, and then goes to where she and Djivan fought zombies to find the next clue, which leads her back across town to where she first met the gypsies.

Instead of Djivan, she finds a Skreek wearing his clothes who looks like an older version of him – his father! Not letting herself be seen, she leaves the spot in order to get some backup.
