Envoy visits the Dream Realm again, and gains entrance to the path of Rephath, whereupon she falls into a dream representation of the ruins of Babel displaced by the "boomer" weapon. She encounters Rephath there, and returns Rephath's axe. She brings to Rephath's attention that Wynona is not only being held prisoner by the Yodhinala, but that she's being dressed up and made to walk and talk like Rephath, for Inala's "amusement". This infuriates Rephath, and she sends Envoy away.
Envoy next visits Blakat's realm, which has undergone a bit of "redecorating", as it now seems heavily influenced by "Alice in Wonderland", though with considerable artistic license, with Blakat playing the part of the Cheshire Cat (Bat?), or something along those lines. Envoy does her best to stir up Blakat against Inala, but at the end, Blakat seizes Envoy, and it appears that things aren't going to go precisely as Envoy had hoped.
