In Galen's continuing dream, he and Wynona carry bags of dirt into the Pool Chamber, in an attempt to distract the water elemental by giving her a mess to clean up. However, while Galen is talking to the elemental, she goes into action, lobbing suds at the offending dirt. Wynona casts an air spell to send her own bag of dirt spewing its contents across the room, and finds herself targeted by bursts of sudsy water from the elemental. Galen uses the distraction to dive into the pool and grab the emerald, but finds himself fighting not only the current, by hypothermia, as the water drops temperature rapidly. Still, he has a rope tied about his waist, and he manages to haul himself out enough that Wynona pulls him the rest of the way out … and they escape the chamber, emerald in hand!
