While initially finding Umeko stalking him in his quarters inside the damaged library, Xander awakens to find it had all been a dream and the real Umeko is there, worried about him. The two talk about their friend, Lilac, their concerns for the future, and the stress they've endured. But mostly, they talk about their affection for each other, and the confusion born of it. By the time they are done, each has a new understanding of the other, strengthening their bond.
