Piper awakens to discover the silver creen, which he has dubbed "Argent", trying to free "Belle" (another creen) from her cage. Belle seems to be content to stay in her cage, which serves as her home, and the silver creen flies off, despite Piper's attempts to talk to it.

In the morning, Piper takes Belle to see Kassie, who is greatly improved in health and even working at Roho's Hospice now. Kassie is thrilled with the creen that Piper gives her, especially since it shows that it's able to speak her name. Piper tells Kassie about Argent's visit, and they head out to see if they might possibly get a glimpse of the silver creen.

Piper discovers that a Naga named Siesseth is trying to capture the silver creen, and he offers Piper two silver shekels for his assistance. Piper is reluctant to even consider the offer, however, since he is convinced that Argent would rather remain free. The Naga leaves Piper to think it over.
