Patch and Silk – a Siamese Khatta and what appears to be a Himarian Jupani, respectively – come to Kia's shop after closing, in disguise. Kia lets them in, and fixes up some food for Silk while Patches slips off to make preparations for their escape from Rephidim. Silk turns out to be a Siamese Kattha, as she was evidently wearing a fairly clever disguise, involving a false muzzle. Silk is unable to speak, silenced by Faraon for daring to do some thievery without being a member of the Thieves' Guild, but Kia produces a slate that she uses to allow some limited communication with her guest. Silk has some musical ability, and Kia finds her an old lute to play.
